What is Protégé?

Protégé is a mentorship program that connects rural youth with influential members of society such as Politicians, Youth Leaders, Entrepreneurs, Specialized Professionals and Civil Servants as mentors. These mentors offer the necessary support for rural youth to become prominent members and contributors to society. Our program focuses on youth development in all aspects, besides pairing them with mentors, we encourage participation in activities that focus on Personal Development, Leadership Development and Career Development.

Why We Do It

It is no secret that the opportunities extended, and resources made available to rural youths are grossly inadequate in comparison to those within the Kingston Metropolitan Areas. Protégé, at its core, guarantees each youth a mentor that helps them navigate the various challenges they will encounter as they strive to take their place in society. We hope to build the confidence and self-esteem of rural youths so they can be positive contributors to their community and to nation-building.

How We Do It

With the help of our partners, our  Protégés will have access to endless opportunities to

encourage their academic and career pursuits. We offer capacity building sessions with the

objectives of developing essential soft skills to boost their competency. Protégé extends

opportunities to rural youth that will aid in character building. Some of these opportunities include:

  • Scholarships
  • Internships & Summer Jobs
  • Capacity Building Seminars
  • Training Workshops
  • Career Coaching
  • Personnel & Group Mentorship
